Big Brake Kits give your vehicle that Supercar look and feel, and exceed stock performance in two areas. First, larger rotors increase heat dissipation capacity, meaning less fade, less often, and second, larger / stiffer calipers and stainless steel lines reduce system compliance and greatly increase braking power and thus greatly reduce stopping distances.

Better quality aftermarket OEM size discs / rotors and brake pads offer some improvement over factory, but nowhere near the level of a Big Brake Kit (BBK) .

The key, however, is to increase heat capacity and reduce compliance without upsetting the stock front to rear brake torque ratio. If the brake upgrade you select adds too much front torque (as many do), you reduce your car's ability to utilize the tractive capacity of all of the tires to the maximum practical extent (even on ABS equipped cars) and you therefore create performance sacrifices. In addition, too many pistons or pistons that are too large will make the brake pedal much more difficult to modulate, which limits a driver's control of brake input on the race track.

Stoptech Big Brake Kits are available as Front, Rear and Four Wheel kits. Calipers are 4 ( ST22 & ST40) or 6 (ST60) piston depending on application.

Most kits are available with the following finishes and options :

- Drilled or slotted discs ( *we always recommend slotted over drilled, slotted improves braking, drilled does NOT)

- Zinc plate finish to discs and fittings for greater resistance to corrosion ( not recommended for track use)

- Red, Black, Blue, yellow or Silver colour calipers are standard to your choice, with other colours avaiable at extra cost.

-Trophy Option Kits: StopTech's latest racetrack and competition brake system comes with the new Trophy STR lightweight forged calipers in six-piston, four-piston and two-piston configurations. Based on the StopTech ST-60, ST-40, and ST-22 calipers, STR calipers feature the same metallurgy and design, but are engineered to provide a 20-percent reduction in weight without sacrificing stiffness or performance. STR calipers are also available in Sport Trophy kits designed for production street driven vehicles which utilize dust boots, anti-rattle rotor mounting hardware and include StopTech Street Performance brake pads. All existing StopTech kits can be ordered as Trophy or Sport Trophy kits.
