-2 SHORT Koni single adjustable struts in Ground Control shortened strut housings.

Complete Shortened Front Strut Housing - Machined from seamless DOM 1026 steel alloy tubing. Heavy-duty swaybar bracket welded on. Our design is much stronger and more rigid than any of the aftermarket housings that are actually modified stock housings, with skip-welded gussets and and all original brake line and abs tabs retained.

Koni Single Adjustable Front Strut - Struts are externally adjustable from underneath the hood, even with the factory strut brace. This strut is prepared for coil over use, and eliminates machining of critical suspension components.

Ground Control Threaded Sleeves - This system is designed to eliminate stress risers caused by machining notches into the strut housing. Unlike other companies that claim superiority by cutting threads into a critical component of the suspension, Ground Control uses engineering common sense to maximize the strength of the suspension.

Ground Control Adjustable Spring Perch - A unique design, which uses an Allen head bolt to clamp the single threaded perch into the correct position. No secondary pieces are needed to "jam" the threaded perch into position.

Ground Control Racing Camber/Caster Plates - More camber adjustment than stock, caster adjustment, aircraft bearings, engraved with calibrated degrees, with stainless steel reinforcement. Every component is anodized or plated, including fasteners. Adds extra travel to avoid excessive bottoming out, this is a very well engineered product. The stainless steel reinforcement prevents electrolysis between the steel fender and the aluminum camber plate.
Camber and caster are separately adjustable by sliding the mounts, without removing any components from the car. The priority of this design is to allow fast, repeatable alignment changes at the track.
The Ground Control camber plates feature two sets of bearings, a proprietary bearing, made to our specs by Aurora in the USA, which allows for articulation of the shock shaft. This spherical bearing is very understressed, as the Ground Control design does NOT support the weight of the car on the spherical bearing. Instead, the weight of the car is supported by a completely separate articulating needle bearing, which is also manufactured for Ground Control in the USA!

Ground Control Threaded Sleeves - This system is designed to eliminate stress risers caused by machining notches into the strut housing. Unlike other companies that claim superiority by cutting threads into a critical component of the suspension, Ground Control uses engineering common sense to maximize the strength of the suspension.

Ground Control Adjustable Spring Perch - A unique design, which uses an Allen head bolt to clamp the single threaded perch into the correct position. No secondary pieces are needed to "jam" the threaded perch into position.

Ground Control Bump Stops - We do not just ask you to reuse your stock bump. The stock bump stop is designed for stock suspension we provide a bump stop designed to work with our suspension. These are soft foam, same quality as OEM BMW parts, but made to our specs in Germany. Our race bump stops are even different than our street bump stops.

-1 PAIR front Camber Plates

Ground Control STREET Camber/Caster Plates - More camber adjustment than stock, mild caster adjustment, Ground Control designed bushings, engraved with calibrated degrees. Every component is anodized or plated, including fasteners. Adds extra travel to avoid excessive bottoming out, this is a very well engineered product.The steering bearing is sealed for long life. This is designed to be used with the factory strut reinforcements.

Camber is quickly adjustable by sliding the mounts, without removing any components from the car. The priority of this design is to allow repeatable alignment changes for fine tuning. Caster is adjustable, when necessary to correct the car, by sliding the plate.
The Ground Control camberplates feature a urethane bushing that carries the side loads only, and does not rotate (no squeek!) and allows for articulation of the shock shaft. This urethane bushing is very under stressed, as the Ground Control design does NOT support the weight of the car on the urethane bushing. Instead, the weight of the car is supported by a completely separate rotating ball bearing, which is also manufactured in Germany.The entire assembly is machined at an angle, just like the stock upper mount. Beware of less expensive machining that bends the strut shaft after installation.

LOWERING SPRINGS DETAILS

Made from the highest grade of steel to exacting standards.
Can be used with OEM or aftermarket dampers.
Lowering heights and spring rates are carefully chosen to provide the best improvement of performance BUT without compromising the day to day drivability.

COILOVER DETAILS

The Intrax ARC® system is a very good and unique system. This system must be seen as the icing on the cake of an already excellent shock absorber system. The Black Titan coating not only makes the shocks perform better (less stick slip and friction) but also offers additional protection of the shock (the Black Titan coating is much harder than the already high quality chrome coating we heve)

- 1K2 system, adjustable in height and damping.

Intrax chooses one knob for the damping adjustment. With this one knob you can set different damping settings. When you adjust the knob, both rebound and compression will be adjusted to the correct damping forces. This unique system makes it very easy and quick to find the correct setup for your driving style and road conditions. Finally the damping system is equipped with a heat device (thermostat) to insure damping force stability and optimum performance during all different operation temperatures.

For the front we have an 45mm upside-down shock absorber. This combination gives a lot of extra installation stiffness (less flex) in the Mac Pherson suspension. This not only improves road holding but also adds lots of chassis "feel" for he driver.

For the rear this kit uses a 46mm damper.

4-Way Coilover system

The 4-way is our top product. The damper is adjustable for low and high speed compression, rebound and the overall range of the low-speed compression; these adjustments can all be done separately and have no interference with each other what so ever, making fine tuning easy.

This damping system is also equipped with a heat device (thermostat) to insure damping force stability and optimum performance during all different operation temperatures.

The rear uses a 46mm damper.

1 K2 and 4-Way XL (needs adjusted upright)

Intrax also offer the Xl version of the 1K2 and 4-Way dampers, these have a 62mm housings with 52mm insert. The XL version are always equipped with our black-titan coating. The extra thickness of the insert and the housing in combination with the upside down configuration gives an even higher installation stiffness than the 45mm Intrax standard thickness. Because of this extra installation stiffness this option is only functional with a Mac Pherson suspension at the rear axle, and is the same as the normal 4-Way system.

CAMBERPLATES

All front shocks are standard equipped with 12mm aluminium camberplates, which (compared to the original rubber topmounts which can allow a lot of unwanted movement) will greatly improve ride handling because of the extra control over the damping and steering. The plates allow stepless adjustment in t caster and camber . The bearing is enclosed in a stainlesssteel holder. The aluminium plate is made from "aircraft-Quality" material "7075".

-OPTIONS

- Black Titan Coating
The shock absorber set can be equipped with the “Black Titan” coating, which will be applied on the guidance- and piston rod. Black Titan is an development from military aircraft industry. Their engines must perform under the toughest conditions, they must function from +40°C up to -30°C. After they fitted their engines with Black Titan, the service interval was increased by 100%. Intrax decided that what is good for their airplane engines must be good for our shock absorbers. The Black Titan coating, which will be applied on the guidance- and piston rod, cannot rust and is extreme hard and smooth. The friction is lowered with these piston rods, reducing oil temperatures, improving traction and extending life time under the severest conditions.

- ARC (Anti Roll Control)®

After years of development Intrax did it. They developed a unique way to drastically reduce unwanted roll (lateral and longitudinal). Your car will have the comfort and all the other benefits of driving with “soft” springs like extra grip and traction, until you take a corner or need to brake then ARC® will control ride height with the feel of a sport/race/rally setup. While driving over a curb, through a putt hole or over jumps the suspension will absorb them like driving with soft springs. At the same time ARC® will make sure that your suspension will roll or pitch minimally. So for the first time you can have the benefits of a soft spring set up without the disadvantages of too much body roll and/or collapsing suspension in putt holes, jumps, curbs.

-Weldingplates
We also have welding-plates which you can weld in the domes of the vehicle.
You have then to cut off the original domes and replace it by the thicker (5mm thick) welding plates. Because these plates are flat, you get more adjustment range for the camber and caster. Also, the car is a lot stronger and prevents the domes from tearing.

- Springrate adjuster (only for race cars) (not for the XL system)

Also we can optionally equip a spring rate adjuster for the front and the rear. The choice for hard or soft springs is an important setting. This stiffness is defined as the spring rate. Intrax now delivers a spring rate adjuster that solves the problem of have to change the springs to change the stiffness, and enables an optimum setting under all conditions, reducing setup time and purchase costs. By sliding the spring further into the spring rate adjuster, a part of the windings is excluded of the spring action and the spring becomes stiffer.

Within the TÜV-tested adjustment parameters, this can be easily achieved using the purple-colored aluminum spring collars by adjusting the position of the yellow coated springs upwards or downwards via a specially designed exterior thread.

The stainless steel strut housings are employed, and are available in three different damping technologies. The complete systems including high-quality yellow springs, purple aluminum components and Elastomer bump stops with integrated dust protection system, provide a unique comprehensive solution for a personalized vehicle suspension system that meets all performance and quality demands.

Variant 1:
The ideal system for customers wishing to rely on the experience of our engineers yet determine their own degree of lowering. In extensive driving tests our engineers have set the dampers for the best balance between sporty driving, comfort and safety.

Variant 2:
The system intended for the experienced driver who requires to not only determine the individual lowering of their vehicle, but adjust the damper setting to fine tune the system to their needs. The adjustable damper rebound settings allows adjustment of the pitch and roll behavior of the vehicle, adapting it to one‘s own driving preferences.

Variant 3:
The new Variant 3 is state-of-the-art technology for the skilled and experienced driver. The separate and independent compression and rebound damping options allow a truly individual driving set-up. These unique systems with the 3 individually adjustable components, allows for adjustment of the compression of the damper in the low-speed range, while the highspeed set-up, so decisive for driving comfort, has been preset by our engineers.

Variant 4 :
With the KW Variant 4 coilover suspension “inox-line” we combine our leading racing technology with a significant increase of everyday suitability for numerous high-performance vehicles. This enables an independent adjustment of the rebound stage damping as well as low-speed and high-speed compression stage damping. KW supplies the Variant 4 with a vehicle-specific performance setting. With the adjustable dampers, drivers can – if necessary – quickly change to a comfort setting by using the integrated setting dials on the damper.

Street Comfort:
KW street comfort in stainless steel technology “inox-line” are developed especially for ambitious customers who demand comfort,safe driving quality but with discreet and individual lowering adjustment. The vehicle can be height adjusted from 5-45 mm on front and rear axle. All coilover kits are equipped with a shock absorber which can be adjusted in rebound damping for more comfort.

Clubsport:
Nürburgring Nordschleife is the most popular race track for using our KW Clubsport suspension kits. High performance sports cars,modified saloons as well as classical sport compact cars are tuned in weight, engine and wheels for their use on several race tracks.
These improvements are made for a better handling on track sport events, race taxi drives, visitor drives and equability tests particularly on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Due to these modifications of the car some parameters are changing. Therefore, the road setups are
no longer ideal for the performance of the car. For this use we offer special clubsport kits which have been adapted to the changed requirements by changing spring and shock setup as well as the installation of racing top mounts.

- KW 2-way competition racing suspension
KW Competition 2 way suspension kits feature independent rebound and compression damping. They can be constructed out of galvanized steel housings when structural strength is a concern or lightweight aluminum when weights savings is advantageous. The following damper versions are available:-

The rebound adjustments are made at the end of the piston rod end and provide 16 precise clicks of adjustment. The compression adjustment is located at the bottom of the damper or on the reservoir and provides 12 exact clicks of adjustments. IN addition to a wide range of suspension systems. Custom orders can be accommodated for nearly every type of race car.

- KW 3-way Competition racing suspension
The KW competition 3-way racing coilovers provide 3 independent features of adjustment, low-speed rebound as well as high and low-speed compression adjustment. The unique valve technology of the 3-way damper system differs from the conventional mono-tube damper shim package valve technology. This design also provides a maintenance-friendly damper system.

Versatile in its design, the damper system performance remains consistent even through a high temperature environment, and has proven to be reliable. The Competition 3-way systems are designed on the mono-tube damper principle with an adjustable reservoir. Rebound adjustments are made through an adjustable needle on the pre-adjustable valves. Depending on the version (18 or 22 clicks), the compression level in the low-speed and high-speed range can be adjusted. The standard compression level is controlled by a pre-configurable blow-off valve. The 3-way Competition kits are constructed of high-strength aluminum. McPherson front struts are constructed as inverted dampers with 40mm and 45mm/55mm (for rally use) guiding tube diameters. Steel construction is an option for endurance racing applications.

KW Height Adjustable Spring Kit
The springs with continuous lowering

The KW height adjustable spring kit is used for lowering of the vehicle in combination with the standard dampers. Unlike to conventional spring kits, a customized height adjustment is possible within the tested adjustment range. For this solution, vehicle-specific spring seats with adapted KW lowering springs and matching elastomers as well as dust protection systems are used. The standard damper system for example with electronic or hydraulic control, continues to remain active.

Setup – sporty harmonic spring rates
The used high-quality springs made of chrome-silicon steel for the KW height adjustable spring kits are adapted in their spring rate vehicle-specifically to the respective standard suspension damper and wheel loads. When developing the respective spring sets, we also take into account that the spring rates harmonize perfectly with the various damper characteristics of your adaptive standard suspension. So even with a KW HAS you can experience your car more directly and dynamically. The KW coilover springs are suitable for automobile drivers who want to decently lower their car while taking advantage of an individual adjustment range.

Continuous lowering
Similar to a coilover suspension, also the height-adjustable KW springs allow a continuous lowering within a decent range. This is not possible with conventional lowering springs. The dust protection elements and spring perches included in the delivery are always adjusted to the maximum possible lowering. So with the height-adjustable KW springs, a sporty and harmonious driving behavior can be realized without the driving dynamics of performance-oriented vehicles is suffering.

As with all KW suspension solutions, the engineers at KW develop in extensive test cycles on the Nürburgring Nordschleife and in our test center on the KW 7-post rig the vehicle-specific KW suspension setup estimated by car enthusiasts worldwide. When developing the respective spring kits, we consider that the spring rates also harmonize perfectly with the various damper characteristics of your adaptive standard suspension. So you will experience your car even more directly and dynamically with our KW height adjustable springs.

KW DDC coilover kit "DDC ECU"

The KW DDC (Dynamic Damping Control) coilover kit with ECU (Electronic Control Unit) was developed for individual lowering and installation of an electronic damping control system. The scope of delivery contains a KW inox-line coilover kit with electronically controlled dampers, a high-performance control unit, the car specific cable set with control switch and a detailed manual for an easy installation.

The KW DDC coilover kit has three car specific developed damper settings. By the push of a button the driver can choose between the Sport basic setup, a very Sporty and performance-oriented Sport + setup and the Comfort mode for un-even/poor road surfaces. The height adjustment of KW coilover kits also allow an individual lowering within the TÜV-tested adjustment range.

KW "DDC App" (only for DDC ECU)

Optional for KW DDC ECU solutions available damping control for iPhone, iPod or iPad. With the DDC app you can also save up to five own individual setups programmed by yourself, and share them with your friends via e-mail. A variable damper setting of 0% (maximum comfort) up to 100% (maximum Sport+), as well as the separate damper setting for front and rear axle is possible and will be transmitted via iPhone within milliseconds to the dampers. For the communication between iPhone and KW DDC control unit, a KW DDC W-LAN module is required.

KW HLS
KW Hydraulic Lift System – makes your super-sportscar suitable for daily use.

Because of their low center of gravity, many super cars have less ground clearance. In order to be able to drive over speed bumps or steep ramps in parking garages without any problems, we have developed the KW Hydraulic Lift System. At the touch of a button the HLS system lifts vehicles by up to 45 millimeters allowing obstacles to be negotiated without a problem. Compatible with our KW coilover suspension or with the original suspension depending on vehicle type and application.

KW HLS Lift kit – continuous lowering and more ground clearance at the push of a button
With the HLS Lift Kit, obstacles such as parking garages, garage entrances, speed bumps or rough roads are no problem even for lowered vehicles or vehicles with little ground clearance. The vehicle equipped with the lift kit can be lifted by up to 45 mm in order to drive over obstacles that would not be possible with the normal vehicle height. Depending on the vehicle type and model, the lift kit is available as a vehicle-specific solution or as an individual conversion kit.

The lift kit is available in two different versions:
- HLS 2, which is installed on the front axle
- HLS 4, which can also be installed on the rear axle if required, allowing the entire vehicle to be lifted.

The hydraulic cylinder unit is mounted on the coilover suspension between the spring plate and the spring. The advantage of a hydraulic system is that during driving no compression (movement) of the extended cylinder unit (no unwanted additional suspension) occurs.

The KW HLS lift kit is available as a complete suspension solution in combination with a KW coilover suspension or as a retrofit kit for standard suspension systems as well as KW coilovers, consisting of springs, adaptations, hydraulic cylinders and complete control unit.

KW HLS Lift Kit Individual – more ground clearance at the push of a button for lowered cars.

The KW HLS lift kit individual universal conversion kit is installed in combination with a coilover kit. The hydraulic unit which lifts or lowers the vehicle is mounted between the spring plate and the spring. The required installation space for the cylinder unit is 65 mm.

Continuous lowering
The KW HLS system allows in combination with a KW coilover kit a maximum or in combination with KW height adjustable springs and decent lowering within the tested adjustment range. KW height adjustable springs kits are a great alternative to conventional springs. You don’t have to be satisfied with a fixed lowering as you can adjust the height with the KW height adjuster even after the kit has been installed.

Your vehicle does not only get a more dynamic look with the KW height adjustable spring kit, but also the steering behaviour and response of the standard dampers becomes more agile. All driver assistance systems and comfort features of an adaptive series suspension remain with our vehicle specific developed spring set up.
No more 30-30 or 40-40!

With conventional lowering springs you have to decide on the lowering from the beginning, but not with the KW height adjustable spring kits. Depending on the vehicle specific application you can change the lowering within the adjustment range with the threaded spring perch when the springs are already installed. For example, the KW height adjustable spring kit for an Audi S5 allows you to lower the car in the range of 5-35 mm. You will not have any difficulties to adjust the lowering when changing your wheel/tire combination.
OEM Quality

Nitron boasts over a decade of success, celebrating prestigious race wins and lap records around the world. Designed, developed and manufactured in the UK, Nitron’s worldwide headquarters are based in England’s prestigious ‘Motorsport Valley’, Oxfordshire.

Nitron has been at the forefront of motorsport suspension technology since 1998. Founded by Guy Evans, the Oxfordshire-based company has gone from strength to strength, producing winning shocks for customers all over the world. There are now over 200 Nitron dealers across Europe, Asia, the US, Australasia and Africa.

In 2008, Nitron moved to a new facility in the UK’s ‘Motorsport Valley’ in line with the company’s expansion programme. This allowed for an increase in production and a continuation of Nitron’s ability to push the limits of suspension technology using state-of-the-art Dynomometers, 5-Axis CNC machines and the latest 3D CAD techniques.

Nitron shocks are billet machined and hand built entirely in the UK. Each fully-serviceable shock is customised to your specific spring and damping configuration requirements by our highly experienced team. Aesthetics also play a vital part of our design process to ensure that the look and feel of our shocks rank among the best in the world.

Nitron benefits from a design team with an accumulated experience covering machining, materials technology, hydraulics, bike engineering and F1 racing. ABOUT OHLINS
Öhlins have been a major player on the motorsport scene for well over 30 years. Ohlins products – and successes – span almost every genre of automotive excellence on both 2 wheels and 4. The company was founded back in 1976 by Kenth Öhlin and amazingly, in this age of global merger and takeover, Kenth still holds the reins at the Swedish HQ. That enthusiasm and vision that transformed Kenth’s early designs into his first World Championship Title in 1978 are still exactly the same, it’s just that these days, his office is a little bigger… but now, with over 200 World Championship trophies to accommodate, it has to be!

DFV VALVING TECHNOLOGY
So what is DFV? It is Dual Flow Valve technology – and it sets Ohlins apart from its competitors. Only Öhlins has DFV technology on its road and track products.

With DFV, the dual flow valve gives the same characteristics on rebound as it does on compression, thanks to the damper fluid having a consistent path of flow in both directions. This means that the wheel and tyre can quickly and effectively resume their important position back on the ground, providing grip and traction. The new Öhlins R&T range uses DFV technology on every single fitment, making it the perfect upgrade for the enthusiast that needs comfort and agility in the one unit.

Because DFV opens more quickly and easily on minor road imperfections, ride comfort is surprisingly supple and more akin to an OEM strut than a coilover set-up. Over undulating surfaces, the compliancy of the R&T units allows the car to crest bumps and pot-holes, whilst still keep stable and in control. Traction is always maintained at its optimum level. When comparing suspension, why settle for second best?

When adjusting ride height on coilover units, it’s worth comparing how it’s done. On many inferior designs, height is adjusted by raising or lowering the lower spring platform. This has the effect of compressing or extending the spring, which can limit the suspension travel that may cause topping out. The Öhlins method is to leave the spring seat in its perfect position, whilst the lower flange spins easily on the threaded body, to allow you to adjust with absolute precision whilst maintaining the perfect characteristics that we took so long to design in! Once you’ve set it all up, the adjuster simply locks off to maintain your exact settings.

Dampers will get hot. That’s one thing that you can be sure of. As the piston moves within the damper, it generates friction – and therefore, heat. Although you can’t stop heat, you can deal with it, and this is yet another way that Öhlins differs from the competition. As the heat increases, the viscosity of the damper fluid can change, altering the car’s handling characteristics. Our unique needle bleed valve expands with temperature, closing the gap that the fluid travels through, maintaining a consistent damping rate. The best thing of all? You won’t even notice! All you’ll feel is that the car responds consistently, lap after lap, turn after turn. Allowing you to concentrate on braking points and apexes whilst the Öhlins technology takes care of the damping.

These kits all work well ‘out of the box’, but there’s still plenty of adjustment for you to set things your way. You like stiff and reactive? Or soft and forgiving? It’s all there. Too much low speed rebound damping can have an adverse effect on grip, so the easily accessible adjuster at the base of the Öhlins units allows small, but positive increments of fine tuning, so you can take into account every single parameter. Sounds complicated? Nothing could be further for the truth. Just a few clicks either way from our factory settings will soon have your car responding precisely to your inputs and driving style.

Selected Road & Track McPherson struts also feature camber adjustable upper and lower mounts to give you the possibility to fine tune your vehicle for the right occasion – whether you want to go for a ride in your local area or take your car for a spin at the track on a weekend.
