Benefits:

Slotted or drilled rotors prevent glazing of the pads, add bite and improve wet and dry braking performance. StopTech's SportStop rotors have a durable black coating on the non-swept areas of the rotor to prevent unsightly corrosion, and quality is assured as the rotors are manufactured to meet or exceed all OE specifications. Stainless steel brake lines improve pedal feel and reduce the amount of time between applied pedal pressure and actual deceleration by preventing expansion, which stock rubber flex lines allow. High performance street pads provide you with higher resistance to fade, higher maximum operating temperature, and better initial bite to allow consistent deep braking into corners. Motul RBF600 brake fluid increases both wet and dry boiling points and prevents boiling even under the most severe operating conditions. Good for street and autocross. Not for extended track sessions.

For extended track sessions, or if you are running out of heat capacity with your current stock sized upgrade and/or having to replace pads and rotors often, you may want to consider investing in the added heat capacity that a Big Brake Kit offers.

Description
This range of direct replacement brake rotors offer a significant upgrade over the factory parts.

During assembly, rotors are straddle cut for the most accurate machining, then double disc ground for optimum parallelism, minimal runout, and near zero thickness variation. A non-directional finish is applied for better initial pad bedding. All surfaces, including the hat, are machined and non-swept surfaces are electrostatically coated with a durable, black finish (unless noted otherwise below) for corrosion protection and good looks. Finally, all rotors are computer mill balanced to incredibly tight tolerances. You wont find a better replacement rotor anywhere. Click here for more details.

Slotted
Shallow, sharp edged but radiused bottom grooves milled into cast iron discs to provide leading edges for bite and a path for the fire band of gases and incandescent friction material to be dissipated through. If the slots fill up with pad material, the system is operating at too high a temperature.

Drilled
Discs that have been drilled through with a non-intersecting pattern of radial holes. The objects are to provide a number of paths to get rid of the boundary layer of out gassed volatiles and incandescent particles of friction material and to increase "bite" through the provision of many leading edges. The latter is the primary reason that all carbon – ceramic rotors have drilled holes – they are present to improve the friction couple when wet.
Typically in original equipment road car applications these holes can be cast then finished machined to provide the best possible conditions by which to resist cracking in use. But they will crack eventually under the circumstances described in another section. Properly designed, drilled discs tend to operate cooler than non-drilled ventilated discs of the same design due the higher flow rates through the vents from the supplemental inlets and increased surface area in the hole. That's right, inlets. The flow is into the hole and out through the vent to the OD of the disc. If discs are to be drilled, the external edges of the holes must bechamfered (or, better yet, radiused) and should also be peened.

The all-new Turner TrackSport Full-Floating rotor is a great bolt-on compliment to the performance and appearance of the BMW M5 and M6. By developing these full-floating rotors with a scalloped design, we are able to move the weight towards the hub and away from the perimeter of the rotor. This reduces rotational inertia, improving acceleration and braking performance compared to the OE rotor design.

Features and benefits:
- High-quality FC-30 cast iron with high a carbon content offers improved wear properties at elevated temperatures and has excellent thermal conductivity and vibration damping properties.
- Lightweight, precision machined 6061-T6 aluminum hat hard anodized with an attractive matte black finish that is both durable and corrosion resistant.
- Friction surfaces are precision ground to ensure perfectly parallel surfaces and improve pad bed in, and rotors are precision balanced for vibration free operation.
- Full float design allows independent radial and lateral thermal expansion and movement; this radial expansion allows the ring to increase in diameter without being restrained by the hat, reducing the tendency to “cone” or distort toward the outer braking surface, improving pedal feel and pad wear characteristics
- This full float design also conducts less heat into the bearings due to reduced contact area between the rotor and the hat, resulting in longer lasting wheel bearings
- Lateral float capability allows the rotor to self-center between the pads, improving pad wear and reducing drag. It also reduces the effects of pad knockback, (the tendency of the rotor to push the pistons back into the calipers due to wheel bearing deflection under extreme loading) which improves pedal feel and provides more consistent braking.
- Rotor rings are heat treated to reduce the tendency for cracking by reducing internal rotor stresses; painted internal surfaces reduces or eliminates rusting for a rotor that continues to look newer, longer
- TrackSport 2-Piece rotors feature side-specific directionally curved veins which pump air through the rotor at a higher velocity, leading to consistent, rapid cooling on both sides equally.

Turner TrackSport 2-Piece rotors have been subjected to thousands of miles of hard street and track use as well as scientific stress testing on the brake dyno, performing countless high speed stops in quick succession followed by careful post-test inspection for signs of irregular wear, warping, stress cracking, or any other signs of failure. They have proven to be durable, demonstrating excellent wear characteristics, no warping, and minimal thermal stress cracking.

What this means in real-world uses is a long-lasting rotor with performance equal to, and in some areas superior to, factory rotors. A bolt-on replacement (for cars without carbon ceramic rotors only), these rotors utilize original equipment pads, calipers, and hardware.
