Crafted from prepreg carbon fibre to the highest of levels, the F8x Eventuri intake genuinely improves performance through an effective cold air feed system and more importantly through our patent pending housing
design.

Performance Gain: 12-20hp, 12-16ft-lb

The F87 M2 Competition intake system is designed to to allow the turbos to work more efficiently. By replacing the stock airbox system with our Patented Venturi filter housings and smoothly curved tubes, the airflow to the turbos is more laminar thus they can spool with less drag. Since the M2 Competition does not have air openings behind the grills, we also added sealed ducts to ensure that the intake temperatures stay as low as possible. The combination of our Venturi housings, organically shaped tubes and sealed ducts result in an optimised intake which sets a benchmark for this platform.

The Eventuri Difference

The M2 Competition Eventuri system uses our Patented Carbon Fibre Housings with our Gen 2 bespoke filters, which provide an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbos. Not just another cone filter with a heat shield but a unique design which invokes the Venturi effect and maintains laminar flow conditions to reduce the drag on the turbo.

Please see dyno graph showing the comparison between the Eventuri and the stock airbox on a M2 Competition. The car had no other modifications. As you can see, power and torque are increased through a large portion of the rpm range. This translates on the road to increased part throttle and full throttle response with the car pulling much more eagerly to the redline. The testing was done on the same day back-to-back and temperatures were monitored to ensure consistency. The hood was closed for all runs.
Each system consists of:

Unlike most aftermarket systems which are basically cone filters on the end of tubes, the Eventuri housings literally flips things on its head by inverting the cone filter and providing a smooth transition from intake mouth to the smaller intake tube - thus reducing overall drag and providing greater flow efficiency. This design has now been proven on multiple platforms and consistently produces genuine performance gains over conventional "cone on a tube" intakes which are so commonly used today.

Performance Results
Extensive dyno testing has been carried out on the M2 during development and we can now say with confidence that our final design produces more genuine and consistent power gains than any other system on the market so far. On the Dyno, the M2 can give varying results depending on heat soak - this variation is used by many companies to claim performance gains when in fact the engine is showing a difference in power regardless of the "upgrade". This is why we ran the car several times in both stock and Eventuri configurations and allowed the engine to produce the best possible in both.

The Eventuri F87 M2, N55 intake system consists of a number of components engineered to perform a specific purpose and fabricated to the highest of standards. Here are the details for each component and the design ethos behind them:

The filter housing comprises of a high flow filter, aluminium cowl, laser cut bracket and the carbon pod itself. The carbon pod shrouds the reverse mounted filter and smoothly shapes the airflow down to the intake tube. This smooth reduction in cross sectional area invokes the Venturi effect where the airflow accelerates whilst maintaining laminar conditions. It can be thought of as a large velocity stack - below is a diagram to show the comparison between our patent pending design and a regular intake system.

The filter housing is positioned with its opening sealed against this new carbon duct. This carbon duct has been designed to fit over the stock cold air duct and direct ambient air from the scoop into the filter. It seals against the engine bay heat whilst still allowing some air entry from the cold side of the engine bay where the hood meets the wing. In addition, there is a heat shield attached to the side which blocks the hot air from the radiator and the alternator from directly impacting onto the carbon housing. This shield reduces direct heat soak onto the carbon housing and therefore contributes in keeping IAT down.

The intake tube is crafted from 100% prepreg carbon fibre. Each tube has an integrated MAF sensor mount and breather adaptor which are CNC machined from aluminium. The inlet tube has been designed to provide a smooth path for the airflow to negotiate from the filter to the stock turbo tube. In order to clear the fan shroud we smoothly transitioned the cross section from a circle to an oval and maintained constant area. This ensures the airflow remains laminar and allows the turbo to function with minimal drag.

The scoop was designed for maximum efficiency in directing the incoming air to the stock duct openings. Many aftermarket scoops have a large flat area almost perpendicular to the oncoming air - not great for channelling it into the ducts as the airflow just "hits" this flat portion and creates turbulence.

The Eventuri Scoops have been designed to sit directly behind the front grills to capture as much air as possible and with a continuous curve to the duct opening to ensure this airflow is efficiently channelled. Having an effective cold air feed to the filters is an essential part of the design. Simply having some heat shields in place is not an effective means of avoiding heated air from entering the filters unless the shields create an air tight envelope around the filters. The scoops and ducts in our system combine to provide the filter openings with ambient air and maintain low intake air temperature. The following video explains the design features.
