Active Autowerke is familiar with some of the unique issues that 2011 and newer N55 BMW 135i, 335i and 535i owners experience even running with the factory BMW boost.

The BMW N55 utilizes an all plastic construction for the factory charge pipe.
This charge pipe will eventually break, it is just a matter of time and when. Whenever the factory charge pipe break at the plastic seam, the engine immediately senses a huge vacuum leak where the engine ECU counters by sending the engine into a LIMP MODE condition.
Usually, the car's performance will feel dimished and lack luster as if running without a proper firing cylinder.

The Active Autowerke N55 Charge Pipe is a designated product designed from inception to cure and eliminate this problem on your BMW.
Constructed from all aluminum makes this charge pipe almost indestructible.
The connection to the throttle body is a CNC machined part to duplicate the factory fit as well making a tight, reliable seal.

Added features were also implemented to further enhance the BMW N55 performance. A large 3.00 inch all aluminum tubing would be the size used without any restrictions or reduced pipe sizes. This would enhance the airflow and peformance.

Owners of BMW with the N55 engine understands that additional power can be reliably maintained with the use of Water/Methanol injection as an added feature. However, the N55 current does not have a reliable source to accommodate the application of a Water/Methanol nozzles.

The Active Autowerke N55 Charge Pipe has a proper proviison for this specific application. A boss with two separate ports are provided upstream where the injected mix of water/methanol can properly atomize before entering the engine. The thread depths for the water/metahnol nozzles are also checked to allow for a proper spray pattern without hitting the inside walls of the threaded holes.

The BMW N55 engine does not utilize external diverter valves like it's N54 predecessor. Rather, the BMW N55 has diverter valves that are built inside the engine turbo compressor housings and no in the charge pipe. As such, there are no provisions to add larger BOVs.

1/8" NPT Bungs (For Methanol or Nitrous Injectors):

With the popularity of methanol injection systems and nitrous systems, our charge pipe come with two 1/8" NPT threaded bung (for methanol or nos injectors) welded to our charge pipe. There is one bung per pipe. This allows quick and easy installation of methanol/nitrous injectors that are used in methanol injection systems and nitrous systems. Each 1/8" NPT bung will come with a plug so that you can run with or without the methanol injector. This is perfect for those who do not have the Methanol Injection yet but plan to do so in the future.

Also, the 1/8" NPT bung can be used as a boost source if you do not run methanol injection. Perfect place to connect your boost gauge or other devices to. The N55 engine does not have a pressurise hose or fitting from the factory that you can easily tap into.

Note - For customers who have the Aquamist Methanol Injection Kit, Aquamist injectors use a 8mmx0.75 thread pitch instead of the 1/8" NPT standard that every other brand uses. If you have an Aquamist Methanol Kit, no worries! We have bungs made specifically for the Aquamist. Specify below if you need Aquamist bungs. Since this affects a very low amount of people, they will be custom made for you and not be regularly stocked. Also, we do not have plugs for these bungs. You will have to already have the Aquamist kit.

AWE Carbon Fiber Intake Fitment:

The AWE carbon fibre intake system is much larger than the factory BMW intake system. Due to the larger size of their carbon fibre intake system and ERs larger piping, ERs standard charge pipe kit does not fit. Thus, ER have now released a charge pipe kit configured specifically to fit this intake system.

Introducing the Evolve / Eventuri Raw Carbon Fiber S55 Chargepipes. Months of intense R&D in development and testing have been invested to bring you OEM replacement chargepipes which leave no room for compromise.

These chargepipes are outstanding in all areas, but specific attention has been paid to three apsects of improvement: Fitment, Flow Quality and Strength.

1) FITMENT : A common issue with aftermarket chargepipes is the poor fitment due to the nature in which they are made using bent metal tubes. Clearances with the engine cover and other aftermarket intake systems can be an issue. Eventuri's solution using carbon fiber allows for complex geometry in order to provide an OEM-like fitment whilst retaining optimum flow.

2) FLOW QUALITY : The design of this part uses smooth curve transitions from the turbo outlets to the charge-cooler. In addition, Eventuri also increased the internal volume as compared to the OEM version to allow the turbos to work with less restriction. Importantly the machined flange attachment to the turbo outlet maintains a constant diameter to the chargepipes without any exposed edges which could cause turbulence. This is an improvement over aftermarket metal chargepipes which often have welds between the flange and the tubes.

3) STRENGTH : Eventuri's thir goal was to increase the structural strength of the chargepipes over the OEM versions. It is becoming increasingly common for the OEM chargepipes to fail especially with tuned cars running higher boost levels. By using a cross-directional carbon weave layup with multiple layers to form a 2mm wall thickness, these chargepipes provide an incredibly strong solution for reliable operation even with larger turbos. Furthermore Eventuri have embedded CNC machined stainless steel rings into the openings where the clamps are tightened to ensure the pipes maintain their shape even under high clamping forces.

In order to increase the structural reliability of the carbon chargepipes, they have no methanol ports. Instead, Eventuri are developing a separate J-pipe which will incorporate multiple methanol ports. Having these ports in the J-pipe is also a more suitable location for additional cooling since it is immediately before the inlet manifold.

These chargepipes will fit the BMW F8X M3/M4, and the F87 M2 Competition. They will not fit the standard M2 or M235i as these use the N55 engine, not the S55
