The World's Best Selling and Best Performing Rear Shock Mount for z3/4/E36/46 Models !

The BMW factory rear shock top mounts are well documented as a very poor design, even when brand new they perform VERY poorly, far too much movement in them, and they are essentially worn out every 20- 30 k miles.

Say goodbye to vague real chessis feel rear end clunks! With the introduction of the Rogue Engineering Rear Shock Mounts, you have a high quality, rebuildable, easily serviceable rear shock mount.

Fits the following vehicles...
All E30, including M3
All E36, including M3, Z3 and 318ti
All E46, including M3
All Z4, including MZ4

Rogue Engineering Rear Shock Mount Set includes:

Two (2) Rogue Engineering 6061-T6 CNC, Anodized Rear Shock Mounts.
Four (4) Shore A 65 Bushings (2 required per mount).
Two (2) 303 Stainless Steel Bushing Spacers (to be used with standard 10mm rear shocks).
Four (4) 303 Stainless Steel Washers (2 required per mount).
Four (4) Yellow Zinc plated serrated lock nuts.
Two (2) Shock Tower Reinforcement Assemblies (with 10.9 hardware welded).
Two (2) factory gaskets (#3352 1128 734).

Problems with Factory Mounts
The factory BMW rear shock mounts are generally a little soft, to provide the most possible acoustically dampening in the vehicle. However, design precludes them from being stout enough to withstand the rigours of aftermarket suspension, or even badly damaged roads. A decent sized pothole can send a perfectly good factory rear shock mount to pop out, making it entirely useless necessitating replacement. Upgrading to E46 M3 rear mounts (a popular alternative) is not a guarantee that it doesn't happen again and again.

Rogue Engineering Rear Shock Mount Features
By producing a rear shock machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, we are able to attain a more stable and stiffer platform which to mount the top of the rear shock. However, rather than use race-only spherical bearings or even overly stiff urethane bushings, we specify Shore A 60 hardness rubber bushings (approximately 30% stiffer than the factory bushings) to allow for street comfort and compliance. Our findings show that overly stiff urethane bushings do not allow the rear shock to move, making the attachment of the lower part of the shock under strain.

The construction of the aluminum shock mount plate and orientation of the bushings makes it impossible for the bushings to "pop out" in the manner which the factory style mounts fail. Since the bushings are rubber, when they require replacement, rebuilding them takes only a matter of minutes. Only 4 bushings require replacement (for a pair of RSMs) and are available at extra cost.

Other important details include the use of 303 stainless steel components (compression washers and spacers) for long-lasting corrosion resistance. All other hardware is metric, and either Grade 8 or better, treated with a yellow zinc plating, again for corrosion resistance.

Another feature is the reinforcement assembly which secures the rear shock mount to the vehicle. By reinforcing the top of the shock tower in the vehicle, it protect against the rear shock from ripping out the sheet metal. The reinforcement has its hardware welded to it, allowing for the rear shock mount to become a bottom-mount design. This means that if the rear shocks need to be removed, it only requires removing the two nuts and the single bolt at the bottom of the shock. No need to completely disassemble the trunk area to gain access. If being used with a rear strut tower brace, the reinforcement assembly may be mounted from the bottom, so that the rear shock mount can be secured in the traditional manner.

The Rogue Engineering Rear Shock Mounts are designed to be used with standard 10mm rear shocks, but can also be used with 12mm adjustable race shocks with the use of optional washers.

Rogue Engineering Rear Shock Mounts ~ MONOBALL

RE part number re.rsm.mono

Rogue Engineering famous Rear Shock Mounts are now available in Monoball version! These have the same features of their RSMs, but instead of rubber bushings, a high quality spherical bearing. This eliminates the movement and "slop" of the rubber.

Not just for "racers", these are for people that want only the best quality parts on their BMW. Not all spherical bearings mean harsh rides in the cabin A stiff spring rate has more to do with the ride quality than a spherical bearing mount such as these. Actually, if you run a front camber plate, you already run a spherical bearing component on your vehicle.

Rogue Engineering Monoball Rear Shock Mount Set includes:
- Two (2) Rogue Engineering 6061-T6 CNC, Anodized Rear Shock Mounts assembled with US-made spherical bearings.
- Four (4) Yellow Zinc plated M8 serrated lock nuts
- Two (2) Shock Tower Reinforcement Assemblies (with 10.9 hardware welded)
- Two (2) factory gaskets
- Two (2) Black short bearing spacers for 10mm shocks (top of RSM)
- Two (2) Black tall bearing spacers for 10mm shocks (bottom of RSM)
- Two (2) Blue short bearing spacers for 12mm shocks (top of RSM)
- Two (2) Blue tall bearing spacers for 12mm shocks (bottom of RSM)
- Protection and Quick Installation/Removal

Another unique feature is the reinforcement assembly which secures the rear shock mount to the vehicle. By reinforcing the top of the shock tower in the vehicle, it protect against the rear shock from ripping out the sheet metal.

The Rogue Engineering MONOBALL Rear Shock Mounts are designed to be used with standard 10mm shaft diameter rear shocks or 12mm shaft diameter shocks (shocks typically with top adjustments) with the included hardware. Additionally, the reinforcement has its hardware welded to it, allowing for the rear shock mount to become a bottom-mount design. This means that if the rear shocks need to be removed, it only requires removing the two nuts and the single bolt at the bottom of the shock. Once installed, there is no need to completely disassemble the trunk area to gain access. If being used with a rear strut tower brace, the reinforcement assembly may be mounted from the bottom, so that the rear shock mount can be secured in the traditional manner.

Description
RE part number RE-ASPE36No

Rogue Engineering Articulating Rear Spring Perches offer unique features for the discriminating enthusiast. These CNC'd units offer unique advantages for the E36/E46 owner.

Made entirely in the US using zinc-plated steel (upper perch) and anodized 7075-T7 aluminum, these are a must for those who corner balance their car or change their ride heights frequently (and would like to do it easily). The coarse threads of the main shaft allow for FAST height changes with each turn as well as prevents debris from fouling up the threads.

How does this work?

Most adjustable rear spring perches do one thing; control spring height. However, there can be a few issues with seemingly simple task.

Problem:
Adjusting and readjusting rear spring ride height can be a hassle.
Solution:
Instead of constantly raising/lowering the car, removing the wheels, adjusting traditional spring perches, there is now an EASY way of adjusting the height on the Rogue Engineering Articulating Rear Spring Adjuster. With a 14mm socket and ratchet, you can now adjust the height WITH the wheels on, while the car is on the ground (perfect for corner balancing).
Problem:
The rear spring can see arced bending moments, making for inaccurate spring rates.
Solution:
By using a spherical bearing to keep the spring verticle, the upper perch can follow the underside of the spring accurately through the full range of motion of the rear suspension.

These are compatible with 2.25" ID springs or 60mm ID springs. Sold as a pair.

After much Reserch and development and testing, Rogue Engineering is proud to introduce its Performance Front Control Arm Bushings (FCAB). A unique combination of CNC'd 6061-T6 aluminum and high performance urethane, we can now offer a bushing that is performance oriented enough for the track junkie yet without significant increases in Noise Vibration and Hardness when used on the street.

Factory bushings are more than adequate for street driving. However, when the miles start to pile up, the bushings are meant to be replaced. Common side effects of worn factory FCABs include, but are not limited to the following:

- Steering wheel shutter when brakes are applied
- Wheel (and steering wheel) shimmy
- Mysterious and irregular tyre wear
- "Overboosted" steering feel (very light steering)

Replacing factory bushings, with new factory bushings will return the factory feel.
However, we offer something that gives you MORE.

RE Performance FCABs
With the numerous delrin/urethane/hybrid replacement bushings in the market, we vowed to make something that was not only effective, but simple.

- No clips,
- no washers,
- no multiple sleeves,
- no "race parts in street cars".

Some of the feature benefits of our Performance FCABs include:

- Servicable/rebuildable (replacement of bushing insert)
- Urethane insert prevents unwanted control arm deflection while allowing NVH isolation
- Eliminates steering shimmy and wander, especially with the addition of big brake upgrades
- Unchanged steering geometry
- Direct "connected" feeing with front end of vehicle
- Easy to install (professional installation recommended)

During our testing, we found that our Performance FCABs deflected much less than new OEM bushings. (see attached graph).

In our development, we were able to limit the amount of bushing deflection while also controlling the amount of Noise Vibration and Hardness being transmitted through the bushing itself by the durometer of the urethane insert. We discovered that increasing the durometer stiffness (to nearly the harness of plastic or delrin), we were able to limit the movement of the bushing so that it didn't move at all. However, we got too much Noise Vibration and Hardmess to be used in a street driven car. When we reduced the durometer too much, we had a very comfortable bushing, with stock-like performance. Of course, with our goals, we were looking for performance one could live with everyday.

Installation Notes

Access to the underside of the vehicle is required and professional installation is recommended.

The RE Performance FCABs reuse the factory "lollipops", as the aluminum sleeve of the FCAB is pressed into place (hydraulic press is required for removal of stock bushing and installation of RE FCABs).

Available in both 60mm and 66mm. Please specify which size required.

**NOTE: these bushes are designed to be installed with the ROGUE housings (60 or 66mm depending on vehicle), these are INCLUDED in the price. Please specify EXACT model and year of your vehicle when ordering.

RE part number re.pem

Finally, a real performance engine mount for those looking for the extra edge. Until now, the only performance engine mount to really consider was the BMW Motorsport Group N engine mounts priced at an incredible $800/pair! These uber expensive mounts were just like factory engine mounts except they were produced with a harder rubber, approximately 30% stiff than stock.

The Rogue Engineering Performance Engine mount is a affordable alternative to the BMW Motorsport Group N mounts, at a fraction of the price. Because these are produced with isolated mounting plates, it does offer similar vibration dampening characteristics like stock. Of course, because of the harder nature of these bushings, some additional vibration may be experienced, just like the BMW Motorsport Group N engine mounts.

Just like factory, but better
The factory-like design incorporates the anti-rotational tabs ensuring that the mounts do not rotate. Use of these mounts virtually eliminates all deflection created from the engine. This is especially true for high-powered vehicles such as those with turbos or superchargers.

The internals of the mount feature a unique locking system in the event of a crash, the internal hardware of the mounts prevent complete failure of the mount. Whereas the integrity of the mount will be compromised, its internal construction prevents the mounts upper and lower plates from completely tearing away from each other. Whereas this may seem to be a small feature, this will ultimately decrease the chances of the engine from breaching the firewall, and entering the internal compartment of the vehicle. No other performance mount can make this claim.

Additional Features
While these mounts are produced in limited quantities here in the US, we have also built these engine mounts to be 5mm shorter than stock, to allow for lower engine mounting height (lowering the center of gravity). Matching performance transmission mounts are also available with purchase. The mounts include 5mm spacers, in the event the user would like to maintain the factory engine mounting position.

Rogue Engineering RTAB Reinforcements,
Improve the handling of your E36/E46 in less than an hour! These RTAB reinforcement shims limit rear toe suspension changes of the rear trailing arms. These shims fill the voids that the factory rubber bushings, increasing the effective stiffness of the bushing without additional NVH (noise vibration harshness). These shims do not affect ride quality and are perfect for those who are looking for an improvement in handling.

Factory Bushings Don't Last Forever.
Where as the factory rear trailing arm bushings are a common replacement item, few realize that all E36 models (including M3s) use a "light duty" rear trailing arm bushing. Not until the advent of the 1996-1999 M3 was an improved bushing used, to handle the extra power of the later model E36s.
Even if your car is relatively stock, these bushings are known to dry rot and crack, causing diminished performance. Getting regular alignments are pointless unless these are inspected regularly, and replaced when necessary.

Fits the following vehicles:
- All E36, except for Z3/318ti
- All E46, including M3

Problems with Factory Mounts:
The factory BMW RTABs (Rear Trailing Arm Bushings) are a very soft material to provide the quietest, most comfortable ride possible. Because of this, we have seen factory mounts require replacement in less than 50,000 miles and 3 years. On modified vehicles, expect them to require replacement sooner.

Are your bushings already shot?
A simple test to determine if the stock rear trailing arm bushings require replacement is driving the vehicle in a straight line. While in gear, under full acceleration, does the car pull to one side? Additionally, under full, firm application of the brakes, does the car pull again? If you answered yes to either one, the bushings probably require replacement.

Rogue Engineering Performance RTABs

The bushing material used in Rogue Engineering Performance RTABs are now available in two different compounds, specifically for your needs. Both compounds now incorporate a silicone impregnated, polyurethane compound. The biggest different being the hardness of the material.

1. Blue Compound - This harder compound is designed for TRACK applications, where monoball components are not allowed. Less expensive than full Delrin bushings, these bushings are extremely stiff to provide the absolute maximum performance at the TRACK. Purposefully engineered to approximately Shore D 65 hardness. Please note, because of hardness of this compound, these can transmit more noise, vibration, and harshness.

2. Black Compound -This compound is formulated for STREET applications. Softer than the blue, TRACK compound, these are stiffer than stock factory OEM bushings, and designed to last much longer than stock. Since these are the great compromise between OEM and our TRACK bushing. Engineered to approximately Shore A 93 hardness.

RACE/TRACK
Our RACE/TRACE application uses a race-quality, high-load spherical bearing in a CNC'd machined aluminum housing. This part eliminates ALL deflection in the rear trailing arm.

This hardness is important in this bushing especially in modified vehicles, since they will exert more force on the rear suspension during acceleration.

The inner sleeve that supports the bushings is made from 6061-T6 aluminum, CNC'd to exacting specifications for a perfect fit.

Do NOT confuse these bushings with bushings produced outside of the US, with unknown material hardness. We have installed similar bushings produced by other companies which are simply too soft. In these cases, it would have been better if stock bushings were used since it allows too much movement of the rear trailing arm.

Squeak, Squeak. What was that noise?
Our US manufacturer has has offered us a silicon based formula, to also keep the urethane bushings quiet during use. Approximately 1.3 oz. of silicon is poured into the mold, which means that it is permanently impregnated into each bushing. This process costs more to produce, but we feel that it makes for a better product in the long run.

A common downside of the urethane bushings over stock rubber ones was that they would typically develop noise over time (or even right away). These noises were from a combination of the harder material, inadequate lubrication (or none at all), and the contact with the factory steel mounting hat rubbing against the bushing.

Professional Installation Required
Because the RTAB "console" removal is required, an alignment is recommended. For installation of the part itself, it is very straightforward, but requires some special tools. We recommend grease that has PTFE in it. A favorite in our shop is SUPERLUBE.

All E36, including M3. Does NOT fit Z3 and 318ti.

Description
RE part number TM

What is a transmission mount?

The transmission mounts in a BMW are a common part that is frequently overlooked.

The transmission mount is designed to do the following:

Help stabilize the transmission under vehicle load allowing the shifter to engage into gear properly.
Isolate vibration from the drivetrain to the chassis.

Under engine load, the transmission can wiggle left and right slightly, worse when the car is being driven hard into turns. This unwanted movement may potentially causing the driver to miss shift. When we sought to have our own transmission mounts produced, we wanted them to be compliant for street use, with no compromises in performance.

What we have is a transmission mount made from Neoprene rubber, with a completely different shape than the factory mount. The hourglass shape of the factory mount is not the best for stabilizing the transmission. By changing the shape to the cylindrical shape of the Rogue Engineering mount, it reduces deflection significantly, while maintaining damping.

The Rogue Transmission Mounts are sold as a pair, and come with Grade 8 Zinc plated hardware. Unlike other aftermarket mounts, the mounting plate and studs of our mounts have been Cadmium plated to prevent corrosion.

Note: Priced as a pair.
