This single BOV sports a huge venturi, designed to handle excess pressure build-up against the turbo compressor impeller blades. That pressure can cause the impeller to stop spinning (a.k.a. Compressor Surge),which can damage the compressor wheel and shaft. With this valve in place, the stock turbos are protected as the boost is raised – you can take HP to the stratosphere, enjoy the spoils of all that performance, and get that cool “whoosh” sound as your machine spits out excess inlet pressure.

Description
A blowoff valve (BOV), bypass valve or dump valve is a pressure release system present in most turbocharged engines. Its purpose is to prevent compressor surge, and reduce wear on the turbocharger and engine. Blowoff valves relieve the damaging effects of compressor "surge loading" by allowing the compressed air to vent to the atmosphere, making a distinct hissing sound, or recirculate into the intake upstream of the compressor inlet.

The Active Autowerke Blow Off Valve is a pull-type blow off valve suited for high horsepower applications. It is used extensively throughout the Active Autowerke product line both for turbocharging and supercharging. Constructed from an all aluminum cast body, with a large single stage, steel pull-type valve to handle the extreme pressure and airflow discharge volume that is associated with high boost / horsepower applications.
The BOV is engineered for up to 43psi of boost and can function precisely on BMWs producing more than the 500 horsepower range.

1/8" NPT Bungs (For Methanol or Nitrous Injectors):

With the popularity of methanol injection systems and nitrous systems, Evolution Racewerks have added the option of having a 1/8" NPT threaded bung (for methanol or nos injectors) welded to our diverter valve charge pipe. This allows quick and easy installation of methanol/nitrous injectors that are used in methanol injection systems and nitrous systems. You have the option of adding 1 or 2 injector bungs. Each 1/8" NPT bung will come with a plug so that you can run with or without the methanol injector. This is perfect for those who do not have the Methanol Injection yet but plan to do so in the future.

2009-10 Charge Pipes:

From June 2009 and on, BMW changed the intercooler piping on the N54 engine. This revised intercooler piping essentially was exactly the same as the previous years except for one change. The "accordion" style rubber elbow between the lower intercooler piping and the diverter valve charge pipe was now integrated into the diverter valve charge pipe. In previous years, this "accordion" rubber elbow was a separate part and could be removed. Since, it is now part of the new revised diverter valve charge pipe, it could not be removed. We now have a new diverter valve charge pipe designed specifically for the new N54 (June 2009+ build date). Since the June 2009+ models charge pipes include what is known as "the meth elbows". If you have a 2006 to 6/2009 and you want the "elbow" that replaces the "accordion" OEM elbow, you can purchase the 2010 model charge pipe.

The charge pipe kit for the F30 N55 engine features two charge pipes, the upper and lower charge pipes. Both charge pipes are included in the kit and are required for installation.

Note - For customers who have the Aquamist Methanol Injection Kit, Aquamist injectors use a 8mmx0.75 thread pitch instead of the 1/8" NPT standard that every other brand uses. If you have an Aquamist Methanol Kit, no worries! We have bungs made specifically for the Aquamist. Specify below if you need Aquamist bungs. Since this affects a very low amount of people, they will be custom made for you and not be regularly stocked. Also, we do not have plugs for these bungs. You will have to already have the Aquamist kit.

The FTP N54 PCV Valve is an upgraded replacement PCV valve for your N54 Engine and is strongly recommended for your high performance (or higher mileage).

The OEM plastic PCV valve does not hold pressure well even when brand new. This means is that when you are in boosted conditions, the "highly" pressurised PCV valve leaks turbocharged pressures into the crankcase. Depending on the condition of your PCV valve it could leak more than others. Also, if for some reason your valve cover is cracked, loose, or has a bad gasket, you also could develop a pressure leak either external to the engine or internal into the crankcase causing further pressurisation of the crankcase or other oil loss issues.

Under forced induction use, the original MAF from BMW cannot read high enough air flow values for reliable use at high load. The MAP conversion is a simple, cheap and reliable alternative which takes less than 10 minutes to convert to.

Unlike with earlier versions of this kit, you now have no need to open the ECU and solder and de-solder certain pins - everything is “plug and play” and can easily be returned to standard at a later date if required.

Please note: This conversion can currently only be used with the Siemens MS43 ECU (standard for most M54 engines).
You will need to tune the engine ECU after fitting this kit.
If you choose not to use the MAP sensor mount, note that the sensor needs to receive pressure reference from the manifold itself - it cannot be mounted downstream from the throttle body.
