Description
Rogue Engineering Billet Aluminium V Brace E46 M3

An integral part on E46 M3 is the rear chassis "V-Brace" (BMW # 33-31-2-229-899) found on all 2001-06 Convertibles and Coupe (including the CSL). This brace attaches to the outward points of the rear chassis and to the area near the rear subframe carrier.
Since some of these vehicles are now over 20 years old, we have been seeing more and more of these start to rust away.

So Rogue Engineering now offer this upgrade replacement, details are : -

- Corrosion resistant, so it would not rust from the inside out, like the OEM version
- Fully CNC'd ACQ 6061-T6 aluminium assembly.
- Lighter weight, around 2kgs. fully assembled (vs. 3kgs for OEM), a 35% weight saving
- Anodized gray finish
- Modular design allows for one arm to be removed in case of exhaust removal requirement.

Included in the Kit are : -
Two (2) arms of the brace assembly (they are idential)
One (1) junction plate
One (1) red spacer (this goes BETWEEN the brace and the chassis!)
Two (2) blue spacers (these goes BETWEEN the brace and the chassis!)
Four (4), M10 socket head cap screws
Three (3), M10 flanged hex head bolts

NOTE: It is recommended that the holes used to mount the V-brace onto the car be cleaned before installation by running an M10x1.5 tap to clean each of the holes.

Description
The E46 strut towers use very thin steel and can crack when driven under specific conditions (lowered cars, potholes, etc.). A sport suspension (shorter, stiffer springs) or coilovers will transfer road hazards energy directly to the strut tower deforming and causing costly damage.

These reinforcement plates are a direct bolt in for the following vehicles:

- All E46 Models - 1999-2006 323i, 323ci, 328i, 328ci, 325i, 325ci, 325xi, 330i, 330ci, 330xi
Inc: Saloon, Coupe, Convertible, Touring

- All E46 M3 -

Rogue Eng : RE.TB

Rogue Engineering has developed a replacement transmission brace for the E46 M3, made from 3/16" CRS that is CNC plasma cut and CNC bent. This incredibly strong brace is available in two powdercoated finishes, black and red. It's also AER tough!

This brace allows for the factory dual-pipe exhaust to travel under the transmission like stock, as other transmission brace alternatives (the factory M54) are too thick as they are made from cast aluminum. The low profile of the Rogue Engineering brace allows for the clearance necessary for the exhaust to clear without interference.

A popular conversion for E46 M3 track-only/racecars is swapping out the factory 6-speed transmission for a 5-speed from an E36 M3 (or E46 330). Why may you ask? There are many reasons why people are doing this:
- Lighter weight, 40 lbs. lighter than the factory 6-speed transmission
- Cheaper replacement costs. 5-speed transmissions can be had for around $400 at automotive recycling centres (junkyards).
- Near identical gearing internally (1st through 5th). No need for 6th gear (overdrive) at the track
- Clutch choices are plentiful (the 5-speed uses a 1-1/8" 10-spline clutch disc)
- Modifications to the factory E46 M3 driveshaft are easy for any professional driveshaft shop, as they add 3.7" of additional length before the centre support bearing (which should be changed as a maintenance item). Of course, the appropriate shifter should be ordered for this change, as the factory shifter mechanism is not longer compatible.

Description
One of the major issues of the E46 that requires address of the "Big 3" is the rear subframe reinforcement. The floor will wind up cracking from the movement of the rear subframe carrier (which holds the rear control arms and differential) which can cause significant structural damage. The FIRST thing that must be done is the repair and reinforcement of the subframe floor.

The rear system of the E46 can be improved by stabilizing the rear shock towers (with a product like our REAR STRUT BRACE) but now, your car can have both the stability of the rear shock towers while also reinforcing the rear subframe!

One of the images here shows the various stress (and strain) on the rear of an E46 (and similar BMW models built like it) : -
-The Red line represents the top of the rear shock towers, as they flex during hard cornering. A standard rear strut brace could aid in the prevention of this strain.
-The Blue lines represent the movement of the RACP subframe floor, during driving such as acceleration, braking and turning. It can flex independently of the shock towers during the driving.
-The Green line represent the combination of the subframe floor movement and twisting with braking/acceleration.
The Rogue Engineering RACP brace prevents all of these stress and strains together!

What about the installation?
Installation can be performed by the shop already doing your subframe repair and reinforcement with some additional labor. However, if this has already been done, the installation can be done in a few hours as a DIY project. Installation can take approximately 3-5 hours, depending on the tools and resources available.
A few key things to note;
-Access to the underside of the car is required. Removal of the exhaust is also required.
-Removal of the subframe carrier (and differential) is NOT required.
Someone to assist with the installation would be helpful

What about removal?
Once installed, removal or re-installation of the reinforcement bar is very straight forward and can be done from the inside of the trunk within minutes.
Two nuts holding down the bottom of the reinforcement brace need to be loosened and removed using a deep socket and a magnetic grabber tool.
The four bolts/nuts attaching the reinforcement brace to the strut tower brackets can be loosened and removed.
Once the hardware is removed, the reinforcement brace can tilt backwards and lifted out of the trunk area.

Includes drill guide, special hardware, special drill bit and hole saw.

Price quoted may vary according to exchange rates, and is for the black painted version, please enquire for cost for 1. Unpainted finish
2. optional Titanium mounting hardware

Description
RE part number re.stb.e36.r

A unique design of brace that reinforces the strut towers AND bulkhead of your BMW.

What does a strut brace (aka stress bar or strut bar) do?
The concept of a strut bar is intended on reducing the flex between the front strut towers during hard cornering loads. By reducing this flex, it allows suspension points to remain undisturbed, allowing for the suspension to do it's job properly. This often gives the drive a feeling of increased stability and improved turning response, when in reality, the suspension is reacting as designed.

Who can benefit from a strut bar?
For those that may believe a strut bar is only for "track cars" or "racecars", it is also street driven vehicles that benefit from a properly engineered strut tower bar. Whereas anyone can appreciate the ability for a front suspension to remain constant at all times, other benefits include support of the factory strut towers from "mushrooming". These generally occurs if the vehicle hits large potholes, causing the suspension to compress completely, and then damaging the rim. However, its not only the rim that takes the hit, but the shock tower as well. Over time, if left unprotected, it can cause expensive sheet metal damage.

What about a rear bar?
Since the rear suspension points do not see the same kinds of forces during hard corner (when compared to the front), a rear bar is typically unnecessary in a street application. A rear bar also tends to intrude into valuable trunk space inhibiting the full use of the cargo space. Additionally, for those with extensive stereo modifications (such as a sub-box), a rear bar tends to get in the way. Those companies that offer a rear bar typically do so to offer a visual compliment to the front bar.

What to look for in a strut tower brace?
When looking at a strut tower brace to give you the most benefit, it should have the following features:
- Sufficient protection of the strut tower top (to prevent "mushrooming")
- No pivots or heim-style joints to allow the bar to flex or bend, but adjustable, to allow for intention suspension changes.
- Center bar with minimal bends or kinks (straighter is stiffer!)
- Provide adequate underhood clearance (so not to dimple the hood)
- Allow for suspension changes (for those that frequent the track)
- Made from the best materials available (for lightweight, coefficient of thermal expansion)

Even BMW applied many of these traits to their own strut tower braces when they offered them. For the E36 and E46 models, both used cast aluminum strut tower plates and matched them to tubular steel center bars.

What about Rogue Engineering's Carbon Fiber Strut Tower Brace?
Some may question our decision to offer a competing product, since the Rogue Engineering Carbon Fiber brace fulfills many performance requirements already. In fact, the RACEBRACE chassis reinforcement fills a niche which our Carbon Fiber brace does not fill. Such features include compatibility with specific adjustable shocks and easy access to adjustable camber plates.
The Rogue Engineering RACEBRACE was designed as an alternative offering to the BMW Motorsport factory strut tower brace, which is no longer available. This item was standard equipment on the 1995 BMW M3 GT (350 produced, for Europe only) as well as the 1995 BMW M3 Lightweight (US market). This well engineered brace utilized cast aluminum end plates and a adjustable steel center bar. Frequently sold for more than $500 when available, these rare parts easily fetch $600-$700 on the used market. Unfortunately, this bar did not fit ASC+T vehicles.
The Rogue Engineering RACEBRACE also makes a great replacement for the factory E46 M3 strut brace. These factory strut braces were included on 2002-2006 model year E46 M3s (2001 models did not get it from the factory). Although rare, we have seen the factory cast aluminum mounting plates crack or worse, break. While most are covered under factory warranty, the dealer is usually very quick to deny any warranty because of modifications done to the vehicle (too low, springs too stiff, or a louder muffler was the cause of the crack). While fantastic in concept, the cast strut tower plates are obviously not strong enough to handle the stresses which are being exerted onto the towers from the suspension. The RACEBRACE's solid steel plates offer enough strength to handle these stresses.

RACEBRACE Features and Benefits

- Lightweight tubular steel bars are 100% TIG welded to high strength steel plates and powdercoated black for a durable finish. While aluminum may be marginally lighter, steel is used for its superior Coefficients of Thermal Expansion over aluminum or magnesium alloy.
- The RACEBRACE's one-piece design offers the strongest possible connection from each strut tower. Its one piece welded construction resists bending and flexing moments that hinged, flat bars simply cannot compare. While there may be others offering one-piece bars, we engineer our bars to support along the stress of the load path as closely as possible, not just "connecting" the two towers together.
- The multiple bar configuration, with center support bars, resist twisting and bending of the front chassis. Although it does not bolt to the firewall, the bar's multiple tubes resist bending and twisting in multiple planes (when compared to strut braces' that use only flat bars).
- Open tower design allows for easy access to adjustable camber plates and shock adjustments.
- Designed to offer adequate clearance over the engine components as well as underhood clearance.
- Strut tower offers full 360° support, completely covering the strut tower area. This can prevent costly sheet metal damage "mushrooming" from potholes, especially with lowered cars.
- Removal of the strut brace takes only minutes with simple hand tools. Adjustments to suspension camber/caster plates can be made without removal of the bar.

E36 Models
Make sure you have adequate camber plate/strut mount stud exposure.
Installation of the factory Strut Tower Reinforcement Plates are highly recommended. Installation for those with stock strut mounts is a matter of minutes. A typical install for an E36 is less than 10 minutes with hand tools.
For E36 models with M50/S50 engines with oil fill caps towards the firewall, the brace does not interfere with the removal of the cap. Use of a funnel is recommended for spill-free oil additions.
Does not fit 4-cylinders vehicles
E36 version weighs 6.9 lbs.
The E36 version can fit with an LS engine transplant as shown by one of our customers...

TC KLINE REAR ADJUSTER

Description
RE part number rsp.rein

For those that use coilovers on E46 vehicles, prevent damage to your rear spring perch with the Rogue Engineering E46 Rear Spring Perch reinforcement. This ONLY applies to E46 vehicles (not E36) because of the cast aluminum construction of the lower arm. The use of coilover rear spring adjusters concentrates the load onto the center of the arm, causing it to crack or break. Damage to this lower arm can cost over £500! This requires replacement of the arm (approximately £250 from the dealer), labor (about 2 hours) and alignment.

Our stainless reinforcement prevents this from happening. By spreading out the load, it emulates the factory rubber pad by dispersing the load over a larger area preventing damage. Unlike the factory rubber pad, our reinforcement is only 1/8" thick adding very little additional thickness.

Made here in the USA, our plates are constructed from CNC plasma cut stainless steel. They will never rust and requires no maintenance. Just install and go!

Sold by the pair.

These reinforcement plates are a direct bolt in for the following vehicles:
•All E46 Models - 1999-2006 323i, 323ci, 328i, 328ci, 325i, 325ci, 325xi, 330i, 330ci, 330xi - sedan, coupe, convertible, wagon
